Teacher Biography

Hello! My name is Melissa Dickman. This is my sixth year teaching at Shiloh Elementary. I started my college education at San Francisco State University before transferring to Stanislaus State in Turlock. I graduated with a Liberal Studies degree with an emphasis in English. I have also completed my masters degree in Education Technology through CSU Fullerton.

I live in Modesto with my fiancé, our two kids, and our super cute dachshund Penny. I love to spend a lot of time with my family and friends. My current hobby is binge-watching Netflix and HBO. I also love to cook and bake yummy things, and be a mom.

My favorite part of being a teacher is building relationships with my students and helping them discover themselves in their academics and lives. I believe every student learns in their own way, so I try to make learning flexible in class. I emphasize effort in class because I truly believe as long as you try, you can show your strengths and keep going.

I look forward to learning more about my students this year and teaching them!
